Dialogue and Other Forms of Discourse
Since returning from maternity leave adjusting back to work has been both challenging and inspiring.
One of the most rewarding parts of coming back? Working with students.
As an Educational Developer focused on Inclusive Pedagogy, I’m honored to be part of the Doyle Engaging Difference team, where I co-facilitate the Doyle Dialogue Fellows (DDF) program. This fellowship equips Georgetown students to engage in and lead constructive conversations on critical issues.
Last week, we explored the distinctions between debate, discussion, and dialogue—and why dialogue matters.
Here's a simplified table I created to illustrate these differences.
What are your thoughts? How do you encourage dialogue in learning environments?

I crossposted this on LinkedIn, so feel free to engage on that platform too!
